WLR‘s Student Blog
Staff Editors are encouraged to think “outside the box” with the content and composition of their Blog Posts. WLR is proud to showcase our members’ writing talents and creativity through WLR: Off the Record. Selected posts are edited and digitally published year-round.
Issue 3
Vol. 32, 2025-2026
Blog Editors: Marcos Cotrosios, Julia Carroll & Alexi Terris
The WLR Vol. 32 Blog theme is “If I Could Rewrite One Law or Outcome.” Staff Editors were asked to focus on a legal rule or court decision they wish to change. Whether it’s overturning a case, an outdated statute, or constitutional interpretation, it is an opportunity to reimagine a legal issue or area of law Staff Editors are passionate about.
Issue 2
Vol. 31, 2024-25
A curated collection of short student-written articles on prominent societal issues. Volume 31’s theme is “What’s Your Roman Empire?”, referencing the TikTok-trend that took the internet by storm, simply by asking people what they think about often.
Issue 1
Vol. 30, 2023-24
Blog Editor: Benjamin Byerly
Focusing on timely cases and issues, Staff Editors were tasked with evaluating recent controversial cases and the truth of their impact on the law and society. While law students are by no means experts, as members of a legal publication and burgeoning academic writers, we are uniquely positioned to gain a different perspective on these cases than anyone else. Staff Editors shed light on the truth of these cases’ implications, impact, and consequences, beyond all of the dramatic, passionate opinions a person is exposed to in everyday life.
